RTL Nederland, consisting of various colourful brands and digital ventures, known for its diverse programming, including news and current affairs, entertainment, soap operas, reality TV, talk shows, and children's programming, is a subsidiary of the international media company RTL Group, one of the largest broadcasters and content producers in Europe.

In collaboration with RTL NL and RTL Group, we created this cutting edge rebrand, aligning RTL NL with the European rollout of the RTL brand, thus making it an even stronger player in the Dutch media landscape.

The new design system boasts a single logo for all channels and the corporate brand, with each differentiating themselves by adapting the logo's colour to match the content, ensuring a consistent experience for viewers, visitors, partners, and job seekers. The innovative redesign puts the content front and center and with its vibrant logo, prominently features the diversity and variety of programmes and online offerings, reflecting the richness of the RTL brand.

Starting from the center

Unifying eight channels under a single guiding principle: initiating promos with the logo, or even more simplistically, with three rectangles. This strategy connects diverse channels to a singular source, forging a bond between content and channel.

Eight channels,

one principle

The RTL United system, initially designed for a single channel, required adjustments to embrace the eight exclusive RTL brands in the Netherlands.
Using the familiar colour palettes for instant recognition, alongside experiments with layouts and defiant motion, we enhanced navigation and captured each individual brand essence. Bright and bold, yet strikingly balanced, our approach ensures a cohesive and distinct channel identity, that honours the original design principles of the parent company.

Each RTL channel has its own character. One transmits different programs to another. In oder to maintain this personality, we created unique idents for all eight channels. Representing their root and to retain the viewers connection to the channels.
